HONOR Robot Phone selected in TIME’s The Best Inventions of 2026

Image
HONOR Robot Phone has been selected as one of TIME’s The Best Inventions of 2026 , recognising the device for its inno vative approach to smartphone design, AI interaction and mobile photography. Why charging your EV goes much faster than you think

Image
Many South Africans considering an EV stress about charging times. They still see them as a disruption rather than a quick stop at a filling station. But that is changing. In August, Zero Carbon Charge announced it would double the charging capacity at its two hubs on the N3, taking each from 360kW to as much as 720kW. The hubs had been open for three months. The upgrade was brought forward because more drivers were using them than the company had planned for. For several years the conversation about electric vehicles in South Africa has circled the same worry, whether the infrastructure would arrive. It is arriving and in places it is being outpaced. Which makes the practical question what you do with the half hour? A typical stop on a fast public charger runs to roughly half an hour, depending on the car. That is a grocery shop. A coffee with someone you have been meaning to see. A school pickup, or the emails you were going to answer in the queue anyway. On the N3 hubs it is...

AI will change jobs, but people will determine whether it works or not

Image
Artificial Intelligence (AI) and automation are changing how work is done across industries. From warehouses and manufacturing environments to recruitment, administration and customer service, technology is increasingly becoming part of everyday operations. But investing in new systems does not automatically translate into greater productivity. The real test is whether employees are prepared to work alongside these technologies. Businesses that introduce AI without developing their people risk creating a gap between what the technology can do and what their workforce is equipped to deliver. Technology alone cannot deliver productivity The success of AI depends heavily on workforce readiness. Employees need to understand the systems they are expected to use, how to interpret outputs and when human judgement is still required.
